 A Statement from Shipp’s Tearooms

It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of Shipp’s Tearooms.

Our landlord, The Borough Market Board of Trustees, has informed us that we are in breach of our lease. With no viable offer on the table our only option is to bow to its wishes and close down.

This is doubly upsetting for us as we have made many good friends, and with so few small independent tearooms operating in London in general and central London in particular, we were fulfilling the needs of many tearoom devotees.
